Space debris is a junk-yard in the sky that threatens my multi-crore assets, and Kessler syndrome is the nightmare where one collision triggers an unstoppable cascade, making orbit unusable. Mission Shakti in 2019 created a dangerous cloud of fragments that will haunt us for decades. So, while some celebrate the capability, I see rising insurance premiums and a clenched fist every time a piece of that debris passes near our satellite. From my desk, it feels less like shakti and more like a reckless gamble with our shared backyard.
