Spotted means the examiner asks you to identify a slide, specimen, or apparatus during the viva. They give 5 marks for that, 5 for the experiment record, and 20 for the major experiment itself, ka. I know this because last year I focused only on theory and my spotting was weak—I mixed up the hydra and earthworm transverse sections. This time, my mother sat with her sore knees and tested me with my own prepared slides every evening after tea.
