The 12-mark essay is a monster where you must apply theory to a new data source. They all say the AD-AS diagram is most important, but my life tells me it’s the Lorenz Curve. You see the inequality in the data, you draw that curve, and you write about ‘remittances’ and ‘tourism’—kay zhala, it writes itself. I know this because I see the new houses near the chapel and the old roofs near the creek, and my own page is filled with those curves, not the neat ones from the textbook.
