The cell cycle checkpoints are like strict aiyas—G1, S, G2, and M—where cyclins and CDKs are the key and lock letting you pass, and p53 is the angry amma that stops everything if DNA is damaged. All this talk of a 'restriction point' feels ironic when my real restriction point is trying to stay awake after three consecutive sleepless nights.
