The CISCE says you need 33% overall and in each subject to pass ICSE and ISC. But the real number that matters is 35—that’s the grace mark they can give if you fail one subject, which I know because my English paper score was 34 last year. That single mark in the compartment exam let me keep my college admission, a drama my mother still recounts with more flair than my actual writing.
