The course has bright minds and fine libraries, but it felt like a suit stitched for someone else's measurements. I left after the BSc to return to my own machine and my own town. My learning came from measuring real lives, not theoretical frameworks, and my daughter’s education was paid for by those stitches, not that degree. Sometimes, the truest development studies happen on a small verandah, waiting for the postman.
