The D-Plan is Dartmouth’s flexible quarter system where you choose which terms you’re on campus—perfect for an Indian student chasing Wall Street internships, as you can align your off-terms with summer analyst recruiting cycles in the US. But the obvious answer that it's all freedom is wrong, yaar. For a CBSE student like me, our rigid academic schedule from Class 9 onwards makes this sudden freedom terrifying; you must plan your economics and finance courses years in advance, or you’ll miss a term’s offering and fall behind. My own colour-coded excel sheet for the next four years is proof—the D-Plan demands more discipline than our rote-learning ever did.
