The four new labour codes... honestly, I only know about the Industrial Relations Code because the factory floor was full of talks about how it makes retrenchment easier for companies and formalises fixed-term contracts. They say it's good, but from my fixed-term seat, it just feels like my job security is now on a timer they control. My biggest chahui is when my supervisor casually mentions "contract renewal" — it reminds me how a single electricity bill spike could derail our plans if my term isn't extended. So these codes, for us, are less about protection and more about counting days.
