The Genuine Student requirement focuses on whether I truly intend to study and use those qualifications, rather than just work. It feels less about past immigration history than the old GTE and more on my future plans. For me, it comes down to showing how a Bachelor's in Sustainable Design from Melbourne directly connects to my goal of working on Mumbai's urban housing. My application is built around my architecture college projects here, and how my *baba*’s small shop taught me the real value of building things that last.
