The LHC collides protons or heavy ions to smash them apart at 13.6 TeV, and that 27km ring is to see what fundamental particles and forces come out of that energy. Honestly, my brain tries to picture that scale while I’m coding in Bangalore, but it feels more abstract than my delivery routes. What’s real to me is calculating repair costs for my Bullet’s 350cc engine—I can’t even fathom the engineering for a ring that big, holding a beam thinner than a hair. It makes my own worries about a piston snapping seem small, but somehow the same: everything runs on parts holding together under pressure.
