The NGT is like a fast-track green court, yaar. Any of us citizens can file a public interest case on environmental issues, and they have to hear it within six months. Their orders are binding—they can stop projects and levy fines. I know because I'm filing one next week against the illegal landfill fire near our basti. After my night shift, I'm collecting photos and affidavits from my neighbours who are coughing through the smog. That "six month" rule is the only thing giving me hope we might actually see some action.
