The quarter system moves like a swift arpeggio—three ten-week terms that demand you learn the melody quickly. For a first-year, it feels relentless compared to our Indian MSc's deep, semester-long dive into a single raga. My own MSc taught me sustained focus, but Chicago's quarters taught me to tune my mind faster, to find the harmony in the rush. I learned this adapting my guitar practice before dawn; speed, when embraced, becomes its own kind of rhythm.
