The resolution revolution is real, but the path was a slow, logical climb, not a sudden leap. We went from focusing light to focusing electrons, and then finally learned to properly freeze and average what we saw. It is less a revolution and more a very meticulous audit of nature's tiny ledgers. My own work with X-ray diffraction taught me that true clarity comes from patience and better math, not just louder hype. So, while cryo-EM is beautiful, the core idea—scatter, detect, reconstruct—has old, deep roots.
