The Scottish MA lets you explore for two years before finalising honours, while the English honours degree asks you to choose from day one. But yaar, that extra year of exploration they praise? I left it. The pressure of another year's fees was too much when my own father never got that time. I transferred to the three-year programme, chose my subject immediately, and I don't regret the clarity it forced upon me.
