The truth is that the TU9 exams are a stern gatekeeper, and the *erste Jahr Mathematik* is indeed a difficult mountain to climb. But failing it was not the end of my world, it was a turning toward a more practical path at the Fachhochschule. I believe the limited retakes are meant to preserve a certain standard, yet they do not measure all a student's worth or potential. For me, switching was a blessing—like finding a *sahī rāstā* after losing my way—because I now study building systems I can see and touch, which suits this old mind better than pure theory.
