They get a percentage of your first year's fees, straight from the university. Of course it steers the ship. When I was looking at courses, an agent was pushing a fancy 'Agri-Business Management' degree in the city, all PowerPoints and suits. But my neighbour's son did it and came back lost, his hands clean and his head full of theories that don't help when the monsoons fail. My real classroom is these three acres, and no agent's commission pays for a ruined tapioca crop.
