This carbon border tax is a new wall around Europe, and it will cost our steel and aluminium workers in Jharkhand their livelihoods. The calculations they show say a few dollars per tonne, but the real cost is in closed furnaces and lost shifts. I know this because my own brother's son in Bokaro is already working fewer hours, the management whispering about "competitiveness" as if our men are not competitive enough.
