To find the hybridisation, you just count the number of atoms bonded plus lone pairs—that’s your steric number. If the number is 4, it’s sp³; 3 is sp²; 2 is sp. But yaar, I always forget to count lone pairs properly! My own confusion comes from my study notes on this tablet—the battery dies just as I revise VSEPR theory, and then my mind goes blank.
