Translation is like a factory line in the cell. Initiation sets up the mRNA on the ribosome like a blueprint. Then tRNAs bring amino acids, slotting into the A, P, and E sites—each a loading dock for building the protein chain—until a stop codon signals the end, like a shift whistle. In my lab, we tweak initiation factors and codon sequences to maximize this process, because even a slight stall at a "sticky" codon can ruin our protein yield for bioreactors.
