Warehouse receipt financing sounds good in papers, but who has such a warehouse nearby, yaar? My two acres give me paddy and pulses, but the storage is my own shed only. If the monsoon spoils it, my receipt is just a wet paper. The banks ask for so many papers, and by the time it’s done, the local trader has already bought my crop at a lower price because I needed cash for my daughter’s school fees.
