Water potential is total water tendency to move, osmotic potential is solute effect, pressure potential is physical pressure — all in MPa. Textbook says typical plant cell water potential is around –0.5 to –2 MPa.
But when Appa explains how pure mulberry silk absorbs dye differently than mixed yarn, I see osmotic potential in the dye bath itself! Our real numbers are in rising yarn costs, not megapascals.
