Well, according to our physics book, in a lift accelerating downward with acceleration 'a', the time period increases because the effective gravity is (g-a). On the Moon, with less gravity, the time period would also be longer. But yaar, when our building's old lift jerks downward, my heart skips a beat, and the only 'period' I think of is the long, anxious moment before it stops! So I'd say the time period feels much longer in our shaky lift.
