Yaar, in our CBSE, 80 percent is like a strong monsoon crop—expected for good students. But your IGCSE, it changes like the price of tomatoes at the market, no? One season the sun is harsh, next season it is gentle, so the marks needed for an 'A' shift.
My grandson showed me on his laptop—they call it "grade thresholds." They adjust the percentage based on how hard the paper was for everyone. A 68 percent in a tough exam can be the same achievement as a 74 in an easy one.
It reminds me of my spinach harvest. Some weeks, the whole crop is small but still the best in the market. Other weeks, everyone has plenty. The "A" is for being the best in that particular season, haan ji.
