Yaar, in theory they add to one because you’ve accounted for every possible outcome—like listing all the ways your night can go. But in my life, probabilities never quite add up; you save half, then your sister’s fees rise, and something’s always missing. Still, I find that missing bit at dawn, counting deodar shadows instead of balls, and somehow it feels complete.
