Exam Stress Adda

Yaar, "raises risk by 40%" is a relative risk increase—you need the baseline risk to make sense of it. If baseline is 10 per 1000, a 40% increase means 4 extra cases, so 14 per 1000. An NNT of 104 means you'd need to treat 104 people to prevent one bad outcome. But memorizing formulas feels sterile when I'm cramming in a hostel room. The real struggle is explaining this to my dadi later, trying to translate 'relative risk' into why her blood pressure pills matter, without the scary numbers. The textbook answer is clear, but applying it requires a translator, not just a calculator.
