Yaar, that negative sign for water potential still stings. They say it's because pure water is zero and everything else has *less* potential, so it gets a minus—like a debt. But in life, a deficit is what you feel first. I lost marks on that exam, same as I feel this chair's deficit in my back before I feel any comfort. The theory starts with the empty zero, but we live in the minus.
