Yaar, the shiny new NITs have glass facades and central AC in hostels, but my old campus had something no budget can buy: fifty years of alumni grease in the machine. The faculty in the older NITs have forgotten more industry contacts than the new ones have made, and that's what gets my freshers their first projects. I hire from both, but the kid from an older NIT walks in already knowing which corridor to find the lab technician in, and that's half the battle won.
