Yes, importing animal-tested cosmetics into India is completely illegal now. The rules changed in 2014, and I learnt this the hard way last year when a fancy moisturizer I ordered for Sangeetha was seized at customs. It broke my heart, wasting our money on something that was both against the law and against our values. Now I tell all my aspirant friends to always check for the "not tested on animals" label, because even a small mistake is a luxury we kannada afford.
