You cannot simply swap your board marks for MIT credit; you must pass their Advanced Standing Examination. I know this because I, too, thought my marks were enough, and I failed the ASE for 18.01. The shokam is, I was so proud of my syllabus knowledge, I never took the actual course, and now I hear that beautiful, structured teaching only in my daughter's hummed notes from Kochi.
