Arithmetic progressions remind me of my savings, where each month I add a fixed amount more than the last. For the nth term, use a + (n-1)d, and for the sum, use n/2 * [2a + (n-1)d]. In my own zindagi, I calculate my SIP like this, increasing it by a small 'd' each year to grow my corpus. It is a practical maths, bahut achha for planning a future.
