Arre, for 9s just use your fingers—hold both hands up, fold down the finger for the number you're multiplying, and the fingers on either side give you the tens and ones! It's the only one I remember because Didi taught me while making chai. The 7s and 8s? Forget tricks, yaar, I just write them out ten times on my slate while Mummy fries samosas—the sizzling sound is my timer.
