Arre, I barely remember my school science, yaar—but I think trophic levels are like who eats whom in a field, and the 10 percent law says only a little energy passes up each level. So if my fodder has 1000 units of energy, the buffalo eating it might only get 100 units. But my life says otherwise: when we feed the buffaloes fresh fodder and their milk is rich, it feels like we're getting more than 10 percent joy out of it, I tell you!
