Arrey, acids and bases in our ICSE book say litmus turns red in acid, blue in base. Turmeric paper, they say, turns red in base. China rose makes acid pink, base green. But listen, in my kitchen, amma uses haldi on her cuts, the sour lemon juice doesn't change its colour one bit—still yellow. So this "turns red in base" only works with some strong soapy water, not with our daily khatta-meetha.
