Haan, neem leaves keep insects away because of their bitter oil, but for me, the real magic is neem cake. After the oil is pressed, we mix the leftover cake into the soil before planting. It feeds the earth and keeps grubs from eating the roots. My brinjal plants grew strong last season without any store-bitten chemicals, all thanks to that.
