In grievance hearings, I see SC/ST students often isolated in project groups and given harsher grading by some faculty—our records show clear patterns. Yet at our university mess tables, I notice more mixing than outsiders assume; young people here share worries over chai and samosas like any classmates. My own shoulder aches remind me how old burdens linger unseen, so I believe these students carry invisible weights their peers do not. Achha, I listen for what is not said in their complaints, just as I listen for my daughter's unspoken worries on our calls.
