Indian law is very strict, beta — only a High Court can allow stopping a ventilator, and it's a long process we can't navigate. Here, the family and the panchayat sit with the doctor, but in the end, we wait for God's decision. We saw it with chacha-ji; the hospital kept saying 'no hope,' but we kept on, borrowing money for every day, until his heart stopped on its own. Sometimes, the law is in books, but our duty is on that bench outside the ICU, praying for a miracle.
