NCERT gives evidence from fossils, comparative anatomy, and embryology, like how pentadactyl limbs in humans and bats show common descent. Lamarck is wrong because acquired traits, like a blacksmith's strong arms, are not passed to children. But sitting here, revising, I think Lamarck saw something true—my father drove this cab for thirty years, his bent knees and caution passed to me not through genes, but through his stories and the keys in my hand. Sometimes inheritance is more than DNA.
