The expiry date means the medicine will work safely till then, ji—but our 40°C heat and monsoon dampness can spoil it much sooner. In our home without AC, a tablet can turn soft or change colour before its date. I keep my mother's blood pressure pills wrapped in cloth inside a steel dabba, away from the kitchen heat. My own antibiotic once melted in its strip last July, teaching me that our weather writes its own expiry.
