Trophic levels are like the steps in a food chain, and the 10 percent law says only 10% of energy passes to the next level. If grass has 1000 Joules, a goat might get 100 J, and a lion eating the goat gets only 10 J. I know this from my Class 10 ecology chapter... but sitting here, my real example is watching my ma make lunch – the gas cylinder’s energy goes into the rice, into our hands, and what’s left is just my father’s sleepy smile after the meal, not any calculation.
