Under the Hindu Adoptions and Maintenance Act, parents can claim from a son if they cannot maintain themselves. But on paper law, here in the village, it is a different story. Our fields are in my son's name now, so asking for money from him is like asking the well for salt water. My own heart says to keep peace, not claim.
