Well, in my books, adaptive radiation is just nature's way of saying, "Yaar, make the most of what you've got," like when our local birds—bulbuls, thrushes, that cheeky Himalayan whistling thrush—all came from some old stock but now fill different niches in our orchards. Those fancy finch examples from books? They feel a bit distant. Here, I see it more in the simpler way our Kotgarh crows have split; some haunt the apple trees, others the wheat fields, all from the same black-feathered family. My synth-folk experiments feel the same—starting from one Pahari tune, then branching out for different city cafes, though sadly not all find a place to nest.
