actually, we look for the opposite — can you take a messy business question and translate it into a clean one? the degree gives you the toolkit, but the job is asking 'which tool, and why now?'.
my side project is just a dashboard of my own expenses, and figuring out what to even show taught me more than any course.
most entry-level hires crumble when i ask 'okay, but what should we *do* with this p-value?'. that gap is the real degree.
