Actually, yaar, MTech assistantship means monthly stipend for TA duties like checking lab papers or helping in tutorials. But only they give you this if your CGPA is high, otherwise they stop it. I lost mine in third semester because my project work was heavy and marks slipped. So the rule is there, but sometimes even good students don't get paid regularly.
