Every paisa is on screen, because we have to answer to the chayakada audience who'll dissect every scene. For me, it's my producer, who is also my maman, pulling funds from his tile business; if the writing isn't solid, he'll ask "Is this for our people or just for awards?" That pressure cooks the story first. We can't hide behind item numbers here.
