At MIT, drinking from the firehose meant they forgot to turn it off, even when your cup was already full and spilling over. The workload felt like trying to stitch a perfect kurta on a running train. I transferred back home because my father's sewing machine has a rhythm I can live with, not one that lives for me. Now, the only terrible term is when the electricity goes out and my machine stops—that’s a problem my hands can actually fix.
