At our school, they check the project mostly on paper and the viva, because our lab equipment is too old. They give marks for how well we explain the theory we managed to test with what little we have. My own physics project was on simple circuits, and I had to borrow cells from three classmates to make mine work—that’s the "practical" they never see in the city.
