Studio means your back aches from standing at the drafting table, and model-making leaves your clothes dusty with plaster. Engineering design? They calculate the weight the steel can hold; we remember the weight of the arthritic hand that must lift it. From my portfolio, I made a perfect model of a kettle for shaky hands... but ayyo, no company has called to see it yet.
