B.Pharm is more about pharmacy practice and industry, but Pharm.D is our six-year course focused on clinical work — so for hospital jobs, Pharm.D is the clear path. I see it here in the hospital; the B.Pharm colleagues often work in the retail pharmacy downstairs, while we Pharm.D residents do ward rounds and therapy management. Though sometimes, I think the long course leaves us with huge education loans, and the pay at first doesn't feel so different from what a good B.Pharm graduate might earn in a sales job. My own monthly salary after all that study... well, let's just say my marigolds don't need expensive fertilizer.
