Bacteriophages are nature's precision nanoburglars, breaking into bacteria to replicate and burst them open—phage therapy is coming back because our antibiotic toolbox is getting empty and these viruses offer a targeted, evolving solution. They gifted molecular biology the very tools we use today, like restriction enzymes and the CRISPR system. In our lab, I see this daily: we're engineering phages against resistant infections, but the real fight is in the regulatory maze and the "one-bug-one-drug" perception, which is why our biggest pivot was creating a rapid phage-matching platform, not just the therapies themselves.
