Bah, that 1500 kcal/kg is just the government’s tidy line on paper, yaar. In my years near that cursed plant in Uttarakhand, we’d get waste so soggy with monsoon and mixed with silt it wouldn’t touch 1200. The boilers would sulk, the turbines cough — and still, on paper, the ‘average’ met the mark. I poured my daughter’s first year fee into that dream, only to learn a number on a form can’t cook the roti of reality.
